1. Why choose natural or organic Skin and Body Care products?
Many people now choose to eat organic foods because they wish to avoid ingesting the pesticide residues present in foods farmed in the conventional way. Many of the chemicals used have been linked to cancer and certain chemicals cannot be washed off food before eating. Research has shown that up to 60% of what we apply to our skin may be absorbed into the bloodstream. Understanding how the skin functions reveals concerns about the possible long term effects caused by the combination of chemicals used in many skin and body care products. These chemicals are used for a number of reasons but mostly as preservatives, colourings, fragrances, and texture enhancers. These chemicals are largely cheaper synthetic imitations of the natural extracts that have been used in skincare preparations for thousands of years.

3. Why don’t you make a Just Pure Face Cream?
We don’t make a Face Cream because a cream is basically oil/s mixed with water. The emulsifier is generally a chemical substance, and when you add water to a product you must use a preservative, also generally a chemical substance. Most Plant Oils are self preserving which is why we make Face Oils and Balms.

4. Isn’t a Face Oil or Balm too oily or heavy on the skin?
No it is not too oily on the skin. It is a pure unrefined product that your skin absorbs naturally and readily. After about 5 minutes the Face Oil or Balm is fully absorbed and there is no oiliness on the surface of the skin. Your skin however is moisturised and receiving the full benefits of the therapeutic ingredients in the product as it is absorbed into the cellular layers.
The Balm should be applied to damp toned skin to aid absorption.

5. What is a Hydrosol?
Hydrosols (sometimes referred to as flower waters or floral waters) have a delicate and light aroma. Hydrosols are extremely versatile and gentle, though powerful in action. A by-product of the distillation process to produce essential oils, they contain micronized droplets of essential oils suspended in the water (resulting from the steam). Hydrosols are 100% plant based and contain the beneficial and therapeutic components of the plant in a 100% naturally dissolved solution.
Hydrosols hydrate and freshen your skin and work as a toner step between cleansing and moisturising. Hydrosols enhance the effectiveness of your moisturiser by helping to seal the moisture into your skin. Use anytime throughout the day to freshen your skin without any build up (the fine mist will not disturb make-up). Hydrosols may also be used on your body-after sun exposure to soothe skin, to cool off in hot weather, after shaving, or while travelling/flying, or anytime to instantly refresh your face and body.

6. Is it really necessary to use a Toner?
A Toner performs at least 4 essential acts – deep cleanses, balances the PH level or the natural acid mantel that protects your skin from the environment, hydrates the skin and assists penetration of your moisturiser which means complete absorption of the potent nutrients of the balm or facial oil.

9. Is Just Pure suitable for a sensitive skin?
It is not possible to guarantee that a product will never cause a skin reaction. However Just Pure has been formulated with an exceptionally high proportion of natural and organic ingredients that have been especially chosen to care for the skin. Most skin reactions are caused by synthetic ingredients. However natural ingredients, particularly essential oils, can trigger a reaction in some people.

10. Is Just Pure suitable for use during pregnancy?
Just Pure is not formulated especially for use during pregnancy, but they are very mild products intended for everyday use. The concern around using certain products during pregnancy usually relates to the essential oil content, as sometimes advice is given that essential oils should be avoided during the first trimester. The essential oils used in all the products are a low level typically 1-2%. The published evidence around the use of essential oils in pregnancy is based on ingestion of large quantities and not on topical application. The Replenishing Balm is made without essential oils specifically for those sensitive to smell and pregnant women.

12. I have never used natural skin care products before. Will I notice any difference?
You may experience a ‘detox’ effect when you first start using natural skin care. Your skin may break out and seem a little inflamed. This is normal and part of the healing process that you are going through. After 2-3 weeks this should pass and your skin will start to show the benefits of your new skin care regime after about 6 weeks.

13. In your Home Ambience range you offer Natural Wax Candles. Why Natural wax candles?
There is a growing demand for natural candles from environmentally conscious people because they are not made from petroleum like paraffin candles. Just
Pure natural wax candles are made from soy wax which is a renewable resource. Natural wax candles do not increase CO2 levels in the atmosphere, produce less soot and spills, and are easy to clean up with hot soapy water. No synthetic fragrance, only natural essential oils are used so these candles are suitable for people who suffer from sinusitis or asthma.

14. How do you make Handmade Cold Press soap?
Cold Press soap is made by combining fatty acids and sodium hydroxide (lye) together. Fatty acids can be almost any oil – from Olive Oil to Hemp Oil. With this type of soap making there is a certain proportion of lye (sodium hydroxide) and water to fatty acids that forms a chemical reaction called ‘saponification’. During saponification, the oils and lye mix and become soap. At the end of the process the glycerine is released and the lye no longer exists.
